Growth arises in relationships between people, in their mutual perception, and within the
acceptance and affirmation of their differences. Intuition plays an important role in relational
Gestalt therapy as a spontaneous, creative achievement of consciousness within relationships.
However, intuition is not, as I would like to argue, a headless acting out of a gut feeling, but rather
a bringing together of resonance, situation, self-awareness, field references and contact. While
intuition inhabits thus a bridging function, difference plays a crucial role in our mutual situation
not only ethically: without acknowledging difference, we cannot encounter the other. Thus in my
paper, I would like to take a closer look at this complex relational process in my lecture and discuss
it further with an audience of both practically and theoretically interested Gestalt therapists.
